The officers of the Western Investigative Service of the Operative – investigative Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained 3 persons for illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia.

The employees of Operative – investigative Department of MIA Border Police detained 4 persons for illegal crossing and for the attempt of illegal crossing of the State Border.

As part of the events dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day on May 26, the Ministry of Internal Affairs hosted citizens in the city of Gori.

The ceremonial event was attended by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, and the Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies, Mamuka Mdinaradze. They toured the exhibition areas presented as part of the event.

The employees of the Operational – investigative Department of MIA Border Police, with the Prosecutor’s Office of Adjara Autonomous Region, detained 2 persons for preparing illegal transport of a migrant. As a result of operative- investigative actions, carried out by the law enforcement officers, it was established that one of the accused person intended to transport migrants to the Republic of Türkiye, bypassing the “Sarpi” Customs Checkpoint, in exchange for a certain amount of money, using a hiding place in a truck he was driving.
