The Employees of MIA Border Police, Border Management and Coordination Main Division of Patrol Department and also the Customs Department of Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, according the joint operative and investigative actions detained two citizens of foreign countries (A.I. Born in 1977 and M.T. Born in 1998) for the smuggling of the migrant on the State Border of Georgia and for the fact of illegal crossing of the State Border.
The crime envisages the imprisonment up to 5 years.
The investigation revealed, that the accused person (A. I.) through a hidden compartment arranged in the trailer of his cargo vehicle, avoiding the check point, illegally transferred the migrant (M.T.) from the Republic of Türkiye to Georgia.
The investigation is ongoing under the article 344, Part I and the article 3441, Part I, which implies smuggling of the migrant on the State Border of Georgia and illegal crossing of the State Border.
