Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia started placing Border Signs in the Border Zone and Border Line of the State Borders

MoIA Border Police of Georgia started placing Border Signs at the state Borders informing persons about approaching or being at the territory of the Border Regime. The Border signs will be positioned in the border zone, no more than 5 km inwards from the State Borders and at the Border Line, no more than 500 meters inwards from State Borders.

Celebration of the Coast Guard Day of the MIA Border Police of Georgia

Georgian Coast Guard of Ministry of Internal Affairs Border Police of Georgia Celebrates it’s 24th anniversary. The anniversary of the Georgian Coast Guard was celebrated at the Coast Guard Poti base. The official ceremony was opened by Head of MIA Border Police, Major-General Nikoloz Sharadze with the Director of Coast Guard Department, Captain Ramaz Papidze.

Georgia has been granted Operational Partner status to the OSG

The GBP CG VBSS Teams (Tactical Units) successfully accomplished NATO OCC E&F evaluation 4 year process, which paved the way to Georgia's Operational partner status to NATO-led maritime security operation ''Sea Guardian''.

The Director of Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police payed an official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria

The Director of the Coast Guard Department of the Georgian Border Police Captain Ramaz Papidze payed an official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, Bulgarian Naval Forces Command. During the visit, the Director of Georgian Coast Guard department, met the Commander of Bulgarian Naval Forces, rear Admiral Kirill Mikhailov and his stuff members.

MOIA BORDER POLICE DETAINED 5 FOREIGN CITIZENS FOR ILLEGAL GROUP CROSSING OF THE STATE BORDER

Border Policemen of MIA Border Police carried out the operative – investigation measures, on the protected area of the Border Sector “Vale” of Akhaltsikhe Division and detained 2 citizens of Bangladesh Republic: (M. T. Born in 1996 and M.A Born in 1982), also the citizens of the Republic of Turkey (M.A. Born in 1982; E.G. Born in 1977 and F.CH Born in 1982) on the fact of illegal group crossing of State Border of Georgia.

US Instructors conducted Special Training for Rapid Response Main Division of the Border Police Georgia

Special training was conducted for 20 Border Guards of Rapid Response Main Division of MIA Border Police, at ,,Lilo” Base of Georgian Border Police.

Members of the Defense and Security Committee (DSC) and the Sub-Committee on the Future Security and Defence Capabilities (DSCFC) of NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA) visited Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The Head of MIA Border Police, General Major Nikoloz Sharadze hosted the guests. With NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation, General Sharadze, discussed the priorities and ongoing projects of the Border Police of Georgia.

The delegation of the State Border Guard Service of the Republic of Lithuania, led by the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, General Rustamas Lyubaevs, paid an official visit to the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. Coast Guard of Georgian Border Police recieves 4 patrol boats by the support of EU and IOM

Operational capabilities of the Coast Guard department of MIA Border Police of georgia is increased by commissioning of 4 ,,defender” type modern patrol boat. Acquisition and handing over of the boats, was implemented in the framework of the“SAFE” Project, by the financial support of European Union (EU) and with the coordination of International Organization of Migration in Georgia (IOM).
