The delegation of the State Border Guard Service of the Republic of Lithuania, led by the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, General Rustamas Lyubaevs, paid an official visit to the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The guests were hosted by the Head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia, General-Major Nikoloz Sharadze.
The meeting was attended by Head of International Cooperation Board of State Border Guard Service at the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, lieutenant colonel, Vaidas Čypas, and Head of Border Control Organization Board State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, Lt. Col. Saulius Nekraševičius
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of Border Management. General-Major Nikoloz Sharadze introduced the priorities and ongoing projects of the Border Police of Georgia.
Within the visit, the members of the delegation visited the sector “Lekiskure” of the 4th division of the Border Police and the border checkpoint “Tsodna”, got acquainted with the local infrastructure and discussed border activities. The participants discussed the modern border management methods and current challenges, shared experiences and outlined future perspectives and plans.
At the end of the visit, the Commander of the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania, General Rustamas Lyubaev, thanked the Georgian side for the hospitality and efficient bilateral cooperation.
