The Interagency Exercise “Didgori 2021” aims to enhance coordination and improve interoperability between the governmental agencies during the war time and crises.

Up to 200 representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs participate in the framework of Exercise in the top table, as well as field components. During the active phase of Exercise, the representatives of MIA Border Police Aviation and MIA Strategic Pipeline Protection Department acted in coordination with the Special Operation Forces of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia.

HEAD OF BORDER POLICE HOSTED THE COMMANDER OF THE U.S. SIXTH FLEET

OFFICIAL RECEPTION ON THE USS MOUNT WHITNEY

Official reception was held on the U.S. Sixth Fleet (SIXTHFLT) Command Ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), which is currently visiting the Georgian territorial waters. In Batumi, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, and high-ranking guests, along with the Head of MIA Border Police, Major General Nikoloz Sharadze, attended the reception. The Commander of the SIXTHFLT, Deputy Commander of the U.S. Navy in Europe and Africa, Vice-Admiral Gene Black, Commanding Officer of USS Mount Whitney, Daniel Prochazka, and U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, hosted the guests.

U.S. Navy ships have entered the Georgian territorial waters

U.S. Sixth Fleet (SIXTHFLT) ships USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) and USS Porter (DDG 78) have entered the territorial waters of Georgia. The crew members were met at the Batumi port by the Director of the MIA Border Police Coast Guard Department, CAPT Ramaz Papidze, and the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Tornike Rizhvadze.
