MIA Border Police, Patrol Police Department and Custom Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, carried out joint operative – investigation measures and detained 2 persons.
The citizens of foreign states (A.A. born in 1969 and M.A. born in 1975) were detained for the fact of attempt of migrant’s illegal crossing on Georgia – Turkey State Border and attempt of illegal crossing of Georgian State Border.
The crime envisages imprisonment up to 5 years.
According to the investigation, M.A attempted to smuggle migrant A.A hiding in the truck trailer registered on his name on Georgia-Turkey State Border. In addition to that, law enforcers, on the same trailer detected unregistered 2500 e-cigarettes.
The investigation is ongoing under the article 19-344, Part I and 19-3441, Part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
