MIA BORDER POLICE DETAINED 3 PERSONS FOR THE ATTEMPT OF MIGRANTS SMUGGLING ON THE STATE BORDER

The Employees of MIA Border Police, Patrol Police Department and Custom Department of Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, carried out joint operative – investigative activities and detained 3 persons for the attempt of illegal crossing of the state border and migrants smuggling.

The crime envisages imprisonment from 4 years up to 8 years.

The investigation revealed, that the citizen of the Republic of Turkey V.Q. (Born: in 1976) was hiding in his truck the migrants: Citizen of Turkey (E.O. Born in 1988) and the citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Z.A. Born in 1994) and attempted illegal crossing by avoiding passport control service from Georgia to the direction of the Republic of Turkey.

The investigation is ongoing under the article 19 – 344, Part II, Subparagraph “B” and article 19 – 344, Part II Subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
