HEAD OF BORDER POLICE HOSTED THE COMMANDER OF THE U.S. SIXTH FLEET

The Head of MIA Border Police, Major General Nikoloz Sharadze, hosted the Commander of the U.S. Sixth Fleet (SIXTHFLT), Vice Admiral Gene Black, along with the U.S. Delegation at the Joint Maritime Operations Centre (JMOC).

OFFICIAL RECEPTION ON THE USS MOUNT WHITNEY

Official reception was held on the U.S. Sixth Fleet (SIXTHFLT) Command Ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), which is currently visiting the Georgian territorial waters. In Batumi, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, and high-ranking guests, along with the Head of MIA Border Police, Major General Nikoloz Sharadze, attended the reception. The Commander of the SIXTHFLT, Deputy Commander of the U.S. Navy in Europe and Africa, Vice-Admiral Gene Black, Commanding Officer of USS Mount Whitney, Daniel Prochazka, and U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, hosted the guests.

U.S. Navy ships have entered the Georgian territorial waters

U.S. Sixth Fleet (SIXTHFLT) ships USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) and USS Porter (DDG 78) have entered the territorial waters of Georgia. The crew members were met at the Batumi port by the Director of the MIA Border Police Coast Guard Department, CAPT Ramaz Papidze, and the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Tornike Rizhvadze.

The MIA Border Police Coast Guard Department Patrol Boat SOKHUMI made a port visit to Trabzon, Republic of Turkey.

NATO-GEORGIA JOINT NAVAL EXERCISE IN THE BLACK SEA

MIA Border Police Coast Guard and NATO Naval Unit ships conducted the joint naval exercise in the Black Sea. The exercise was held as a part of the Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG2) port visit.

The U.S. Ambassador Kelly C. Degnan and the Commander of the ship, CAPT Tim Cronin hosted the Head of the MIA Border Police Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze on the U.S. Coast Guard ship.

Nato-Georgia joint maritime trainings in Black Sea

Within the Standing NATO Maritime Group TWO (SNMG2) port call to Georgia the NATO force conducted combined maritime trainings in the Black Sea with the Coast Guard Department under the MIA Border Police of Georgia.

The GCG of MIA Border Police hosting NATO vessels

The Georgian Coast Guard of MIA Border Police is hosting Standing NATO Maritime Group TWO (SNMG2) in the territorial waters of Georgia. SNMG2 includes: CRISTOBAL COLON - FLAGSHIP (Spain), REGINA MARIA (Romania), KEMALREIS (Turkey) and SMELI (Bulgaria). The Maritime Group is led by Rear Admiral Manuel Aguirre Aldereguía, Commander of NATO’s SNMG2.

USS Donald Cook entered the Territorial Waters of Georgia

The Coast Guard Department of the Border Police under the Ministry of Internal Affairs is hosting USS Donald Cook (DDG-75) in the territorial waters of Georgia. The ship was greeted by the Director of the Coast Guard Department, CAPT Ramaz Papidze and representatives of the same department.
