US DEPARTMENT OF STATE: GEORGIAN BORDER POLICE AND COAST GUARD WELL ORGANIZED AND HIGHLY COMPETENT

The US Department of State has published the 2020 Country Report, in which, along with other countries, Georgia’s measures implemented in connection with the fight against terrorism is assessed. The report notes measures undertaken by the Government of Georgia to strengthen border and aviation security.

MIA Border Aviation resumed flights to Tusheti

The MIA Border Police Aviation resumed regular flights from Alvani to Tusheti. The helicopter has already transported the first passengers to the village of Omalo.

The Interagency Exercise “Didgori 2021” aims to enhance coordination and improve interoperability between the governmental agencies during the war time and crises.

Up to 200 representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs participate in the framework of Exercise in the top table, as well as field components. During the active phase of Exercise, the representatives of MIA Border Police Aviation and MIA Strategic Pipeline Protection Department acted in coordination with the Special Operation Forces of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia.
