HEAD OF MIA BORDER POLICE PAID AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND

The Head of MIA Border Police, Major General Nikoloz Sharadze, and his Deputy, Giorgi Malania, paid an official visit to the Republic of Poland, where they attended the Eastern Conference and Border Protection Fair BORDERS – 2021.

During the visit, Major General Nikoloz Sharadze met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Border Guard, Major General Tomasz Praga. The Deputy Head of Border Police, Giorgi Malania, the Georgian Police Attaché to Poland, Giorgi Gamsakhurdia, and the Director of International Affairs Bureau of the Polish Border Guard, Colonel Sebastian Zakowiecki, also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the existing cooperation between two border agencies and future perspectives. Nikoloz Sharadze congratulated his Polish colleagues on the 30th Anniversary of the Border Guard.

The members of the Georgian delegation also visited the Nadbużański Regional Office of the Polish Border Protection, where they viewed the local infrastructure and discussed border-related topics.

As a part of the visit, the Georgian Border Police delegation attended a conference held in Depułtycze Królewskie. The participants discussed the modern border management methods and current challenges, shared best practices and outlined future perspectives and plans. Nikoloz Sharadze and Giorgi Malania also viewed the exhibition held within the framework of the Fair, where different companies showcased the latest border protection technologies, aircraft and various types of equipment.
