Head of Border Police Met with the Commandant of the Turkish Coast Guard

The MIA Border Police delegation paid a working visit to the Republic of Turkey. During the visit, Major General Nikoloz Sharadze met with the Commandant of the Turkish Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Ahmet Kendir.

The Deputy Head of Border Police Giorgi Malania and the Director of the Coast Guard Department, CAPT Ramaz Papidze also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the parties discussed maritime security and the deepening of the existing bilateral relations.

The Head of Border Police thanked the Turkish colleagues for their assistance in training the Georgian Coast Guard personnel and providing technical upgrades to the Coast Guard boats.

During the visit, the members of the MIA Border Police delegation attended the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF'21) in Istanbul and got acquainted with the latest technological advancements in the security field. The International Defence Industry Fair, held for the fifteenth time this year, is organised by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF) every two years. By its scale and importance, the Exhibition is among the top four in the world.
