BORDER POLICE DETAINED 2 PERSONS FOR THE FACT OF ILLEGAL CROSSING OF THE STATE BORDER

The employees of the Operative – Investigative Main Division’s East Investigative Service, as a result of operative – investigative measures, detained 1 person of the foreign country and 1 person of Georgia (B.I. Born in 1998 and N.TS. Born in 1993) for the illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia.

The crime envisages the imprisonment up to 5 years.

The investigation revealed, that the accused persons (B.I. and N. TS) avoiding the check point, from the Republic of Türkiye to the direction to Georgia, hiding in the truck, implemented illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia.

The investigation is ongoing under the article 344, Part I, which implies illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia.

The Head of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel Davit Tamazashvili met with the Deputy NATO Core Team Leader of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package (SNGP) Captain (N) Meric Kobak. The meeting emphasized the support and involvement of the Turkish side in the implementation of activities defined within the framework of the NATO-Georgia Essential Package Maritime Security Initiative.
