THE HEAD OF MIA BORDER POLICE PAID TRIBUTE TO THE SAILORS KILLED IN THE AUGUST WAR OF 2008

The Head of MIA Border Police, Davit Tamazashvili, the Director of the Coast Guard Department, Iuri Pirtskhalaishvili and the representatives of the same Department paid tribute to the memory of the Sailors who died during the August War of 2008, at the Poti Base of the Coast Guard and laied a wreath in the Black Sea.

The Mayor of Poti, and the members of the families of the heroes attended the ceremony.

In 2008, as a result of the aggression of the Russian occupation forces, 5 Servicemen of the Maritime Forces - Leitentant Theimuraz Chitadze, Petty Officer Third Class - Zviad Barbakadze, Giorgi Gvinjilia, Zviad Datuashvili and Temur Pichkhaia, were killed at the Poti Base.
