BORDER POLICE DETAINED 4 PERSONS FOR THE FACT OF ILLEGAL CROSSING OF THE STATE BORDER

The employees of MIA Border Police, as result of the operative-investigative activities, carried out on the various sectors of Batumi Division, detained 4 foreign citizens (U.O. born in 1985, B.B. born in 1998, M.K. born in 1999, and M.A. born in 1996) for illegally crossing of the Georgian State Border.

The crime is punishable up to 5 years of imprisonment.

The investigation revealed that the defendants B.B. and M.K. illegally crossed Georgian State Border from the Republic of Turkey to Georgia, avoiding the border checkpoint, while the defendants U.O. and M.A. illegally crossed the Georgian State Border by hiding in a truck.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 344, Part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to illegal crossing of the Georgian State Border.

The Coast Guard of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has celebrated its 27th anniversary. The Head of the Border Police, Colonel Davit Tamazashvili, together with the Director of the Coast Guard Department, Captain I Rank Yuri Pirtskhalashvili, congratulated the personnel on their professional day at the Coast Guard base in Poti.
