BORDER POLICE DETAINED 3 PERSONS AT THE STATE BORDER FOR THE ATTMEPT OF SMUGGLING OF MIGRANT AND FOR THE ATTEMPT OF ILLEGAL CROSSING OF THE STATE BORDER

Based on operational information received by the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Border Police, the Patrol Police Department, and the Customs Department of the Revenue service, through joint operational and investigative actions, arrested I.L. (born in 1983), S.D. (born in 1983), and R.A. (born in 2001) for attempting to illegally transfer two or more migrants across the state border of Georgia and attempt of illegal group crossing of the State Border.

The crime envisages the impressment from 4 years up to 8 years.

The investigation revealed, that the foreign national I.L., through a hidden compartment arranged in the trailer of his cargo vehicle, attempted to illegally transfer migrants, as well as foreign nationals S.D. and R.A., from Georgia to the Republic of Turkey via the "Sarpi" border crossing point.

The investigation is ongoing under the article 19 – 3441, Part II, Subparagraph “A” and article 19 – 344, Part II, Subparagraph “A”.

BORDER POLICE EMPLOYEES ARE UNDERGOING FIREARMS TRAININGS

The employees of the Land Border Protection Department of the MIA Border Police are participating in the firearms exercises. The training began in February, and so far, more than 900 employees have completed the trainings.
