MIA Border Police seized more than 10 kg heroin and detained 2 foreign citizens

The Georgian Border Policemen, according to the operative – investigation measures, on the protected area of the Border Sector “Vakhtangisi” detained two citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan: Person: U.T. born in 1998 and person: E.M. born in 1989.

The citizens of Azerbaijan are accused to the following crimes: Illegal Group Crossing the State Border, also, Illegal purchasing and possession the large quantity of narcotics.

The crimes envisage imprisonment from 15 to 20 years or life- long imprisonment.

The investigation revealed, that the accused persons from the Republic of Azerbaijan, avoided the Check Points, illegally crossed Georgian State Border and illegally brought in, more than 10 kg narcotics “heroin”. The investigation is ongoing according to the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 344, Part II, Subparagraph “A”, Article 260, Part III, Subparagraph “B” and Part VI, Subparagraph “A”, Article 262, Part II, Subparagraph ,,B” and Part IV, Subparagraph “A”.

BORDER POLICE DETAINED ONE CITIZEN OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES FOR UNLAWFUL PURCHASING AND STORING OF FIREARMS AND FOR ILLGAL CROSSING OF THE BORDER

The employees of MIA Border Police carried out operative – investigative measures and detained one citizen of foreign countries (G.Sh. Born in 2006) for illegal crossing of the border and for unlawful purchasing and storing of firearms.
