End of the Inter-agency Theoretical Training Course at the Joint Maritime Operations Centre

Joint Maritime Operations Centre (JMOC), in the framework of the International Counterproliferation Program (ICP) of the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), organized an Inter-agency Theoretical Training (JMOC TTX) Course.

The representatives of the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Embassy in Georgia, along with Georgian colleagues, participated in the course planning process and provided relevant expertise.

About 37 representatives of MIA Border Police Coast Guard Department and partner agencies participated in the training programme.

The programme aims to assess how the information regarding the Georgian maritime space is received and shared in an inter-agency format and determine the possibilities of detecting weapons of mass destruction in the maritime space.

During the training course, participants received comprehensive information on the current competencies of various agencies in the maritime security context and the current trends in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
The exercise also included practical elements that were carried out at Joint Maritime Operations Centre and the Batumi Port.
