The Official Visit of the Head of the Border Police to the United States has ended

The Head of the MIA Border Police, Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze has ended his visit to the United States. In the framework of the visit, Nikoloz Sharadze held meetings at the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) in Washington and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) in New London.

During his visit to USCG and USCGA, Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze met with the Deputy Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard for Operations, Vice-Admiral Scott Buschman, the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, Admiral Karl Schultz and the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, respectively.

The U.S. President Joe Biden, along with the Head of the MIA Border Police, Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze and the Director of the Coast Guard Department, CAPT Ramaz Papidze presented diplomas to the Georgian graduates. Nikoloz Tvildiani and Sandro Stazhadze are the first cadets sent to the USCGA with the support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

Before the graduation ceremony, the members of the Georgian delegation paid tribute to the memory of the USCGA Georgian cadets who tragically died in a car accident in 2015 - Soso Makaridze and Besarion Gorjoladze. Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze laid a wreath at the memorial of Georgian cadets located on the USCGA territory.
