Head of Border Police Paid Tribute to the Heroes Killed in the August War

The Head of MIA Border Police, Major General Nikoloz Sharadze and the Director of the Coast Guard Department, CAPT Ramaz Papidze, laid a wreath at the memorial of heroes killed in the line of duty during the 2008 Russo-Georgian War.

Along with the Head of Border Police, the representatives of the Ukrainian Naval Forces and the local self-governance of Poti honoured the memory of fallen heroes. The family members of the deceased also attended the event.

In 2008, as a result of the aggression of the Russian occupation forces, 5 Navy servicemen were killed at the Poti base.
