Meeting of Head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia with Ambassador of Germany

The Head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia, Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze, hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Hubert Knirsch. The meeting was attended by the head of the security service of the German Embassy, officer of the German Federal Police Jamila Fischer and Security Adviser for the South Caucasus Patrick Kronberg.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of Border Management. Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze talked about priorities and current projects of the Border Police of Georgia.

Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze, with the guests, inspected the simulation models for first aid training, provided by the German Ministry of Internal Affairs to the Border Police and got acquainted with their functions and capabilities.

The Georgian Border Police works closely with the Federal Ministry of Interior, for Building and Community of Federal Republic of Germany. As the part of this cooperation, training courses and practical exercises were conducted for border police officers. In addition, at the end of 2020, the Border Police of Georgia received a set of simulation models of manikins for First Aid Training worth up to GEL 21 000. The simulation models will be sent to all relevant units of Land Border and Coast Guard Departments of the Border Police.
