The Head of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel Davit Tamazashvili, met with the Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Georgia, Lars Johan Lönnback.
The introductory meeting was attended by the Deputy Heads of the Border Police and the representative of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The parties discussed the prospects for long-term partnership and cooperation between the Border Police of Georgia and IOM in the field of the border protection. During the meeting, the Head of the Border Police introduced the agency's priority areas and future plans to the guests.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of the Border Police, Davit Tamazashvili, expressed the gratitude to the IOM representatives for their active support in the process of developing the capabilities of the Border Police.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has been supporting the Ministry of Internal Affairs in developing an effective migration and border management system for many years, both in terms of expert support and the implementation of the systems of technologies in line with international standards.
