Military and civilian personnel from the Ministry of Defence and representatives of the Defence Institution Building School (DIB) visited the ,,Poti” base of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Joint Maritime Operations Command Center (JMOC).
The visit was carried out in the framework of the annual "Higher Defence and Security Program" of the LEPL - Defence Institution Building School of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. The goal of the visit was familiarize with the formats of interagency cooperation and the interaction of the Units of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs in peacetime and during crises.
The guests were hosted by the Head of the Coast Guard Department, Yuri Pirtskhalaishvili who gave a presentation on the activities of the Coast Guard Department and the Security of the Black Sea and introduced the specifics of the work of the Coast Guard. At the Joint Maritime Operations Command Centre (JMOC), the guests were introduced to the structure and tasks of the Centre, and also viewed the floating facilities of the Coast Guard Department.
