The Officers of the Border Police of Georgia and the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of joint operative – investigative measures, detained an Indian citizen (V.G. Born in 1997), who was wanted by Interpol for committing a particularly serious crime.
The arrested V.G. was wanted by Indian Law Enforcement Agencies for various crimes, including the creation of a criminal group, attempted murder, and threats, under an Interpol Red Notice, and has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
The accused person crossed the Georgian Border before an international search was announced for him.
Georgian Border Police officers detained V.G. in Batumi as a result of operational-search measures.
Currently, extradition procedures provided for by law are underway against the detainee.
