The First Deputy Head of the Border Police, Giorgi Gureshidze, along with a delegation, visited the Republic of Türkiye according to the invitation of the Turkish Coast Guard.
During the visit, representatives of the Georgian Border Police met with the Head of the Turkish Coast Guard, Vice Admiral Ahmet Kendir. The parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation between the Turkish Coast Guard and the Georgian Border Police.
The meeting emphasized the Turkish side’s significant support in personnel training and in providing material and technical assistance. Future directions for cooperation, including continued technical support for the Coast Guard Department, were also outlined.
As part of the visit, Giorgi Gureshidze attended the 17th International Defense Industry Exhibition (IDEF 2025) held at the Istanbul Exhibition Center. He was joined by Iuri Pirtskhalaishvili, Director of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police, and Ramaz Papidze, Head of the International Relations Division of the Border Police.
At the exhibition, the Georgian delegation was introduced to the latest achievements of the Turkish defense industry, including advancements in maritime security technologies.
