THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TACTICAL TEAM OF THE COAST GUARD DEPARTMENT OF THE GEORGIAN BORDER POLICE HAS RETURNED TO HOMELAND FROM NATO OPERATION “SEA GUARDIAN”

The members of the Law Enforcement Tactical Group of the Coast Guard Department of the Georgian Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, participated in the NATO Maritime Security Operation “SEA GUARGIAN” for the third time, this year, according to the invitation of the General Staff of the Hellenic Navy.

In the framework of the Operation, 12 members of the Georgian Coast Guard Boarding Team was embarked on the Greek frigate "HS ELLI (F450). The Representatives of the Georgian Boarding Team with members of the Greek Special Forces, participated in a joint tactical combat first aid exercise.

Members of the Boarding Team also participated in the practical fire training and in the exercises on combat techniques in the confined spaces.

NATO's Maritime Operation "Sea Guardian", operating under the auspices of the Alliance, is currently the only operation which’s main objectives are: combating terrorism, promoting freedom of navigation at sea, increasing maritime security capabilities, preventing illicit economic activities, and raising awareness of the maritime situation in the operational area.
