THE HEAD OF INTERNATIONAL – MILITARY COOPERATION DIRECTORATE OF NATO ALLIED MARITIME COMMAND VISITED POTI BASE OF COAST GUARD OF THE BORDER POLICE

The Head of NATO’s Allied Maritime Command’s International Military Cooperation Directorate, Captain of the First Rank, Frode Røte, visited Poti Base of the Coast Guard Department of MIA Border Police.

During the introductory meeting, several topics were discussed, such as: the cooperation between NATO Allied Maritime Command and Border Police in the field of maritime security, implemented, ongoing, and future activities in the frame of cooperation.

At the Poti Base the Director of the Coast Guard Department, Ramaz Papidze introduced to the Guests Georgian Coast Guard operational and mission support capabilities. The Guests visited Operational Management Division, one of the patrol ship of the Georgian Coast Guard “Dioskuria” and engineering and repair facilities.

During the tour to the western region of Georgia, the NATO Representatives also visited the Joint Maritime Operations Centre (JMOC), where they were introduced the activities of the Centre.
