MIA BORDER POLICE DETAINED 2 PERSONS FOR ATTEMPTS OF SMUGGLING OF MIGRANT AND ILLEGAL GROUP CROSSING OF STATE BORDER

The Employees of MIA Border Police, Patrol Police Department and Custom Department of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, as a result of the joint operative – investigative measures and investigative activities, detained 2 foreign Citizens for the attempts of smuggling of the migrant and illegal group crossing of the State Border of Georgia.

The investigation revealed that I. E. born in 1969 was hiding the migrant in his trailer, attempted to avoid the check point “Kartsakhi” and tried to smuggle the migrant (S.I. Born in 1997) from Georgia to the Republic of Turkey.

The crime envisages imprisonment up to 5 years.

The investigation is ongoing under the article 19 – 344 1, Part I and 19-344 Article Part I.
