The training “Standards on Communication and Protection of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities” was conducted for the employees of the “Red Bridge” Division of the Land Border Protection Department of MIA Border Police. The training was organized under the framework of Action Plan 2023 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, on the Protection of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities.
The trainings aim to enhance the knowledge and raise the qualification of the employees. During the training the Border Guards will familiarize with important issues as: the concepts of disabilities, the proper and improper terminology with regard the Persons with Disabilities, the communication standards and needs of the persons with sensory impairments, supportive means and needs of the persons with sensory impairments, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), the right to access the justice, the role of the administrative and other State Agencies in the process of the protection of the Persons with Disabilities and e.t.
The trainings will be conducted in all the Divisions of the Land Border Protection Department of MIA Border Police and about 300 Border Guards will be trained.
