MOBILE TRAINING TEAM (MTT) OF NATO ALLIED MARITIME COMMAND IMPLEMENTED PRACTICAL EXERCISES FOR THE EMPLOYESS OF THE COAST GUARD DEPARTMENT

The practical exercise was delivered to the employees of operational management main division of the Georgian Coast Guard Department and Joint Maritime Operational Centre (JMOC).

The exercise was implemented by the Mobile Training Team (MARCOM MTT) of NATO Allied Maritime Command.

During the three day of Exercise, the employees of the Georgian Coast Guard were familiriesed with the issues related to the NATO maritime support (logistical and infrastructure), cyber security and informational systems, legislation of the Maritime Interdiction Operations and other issues.

The exercise was implemented in the framework of the bilateral cooperation with the NATO Allied Maritime Command. The exercise aimed to raise awareness of the employees of the Coast Guard Department about the role and capabilities of NATO in the maritime security issues.

Upon accomplishment the training, all the participants have been handed the certificates of their achievement.

The employees of MIA Border Police, on the area of the responsibility of the Border Sector “Matsimi” of Lagodekhi Division, as a result of operative – investigative measures, detained 4 persons of the foreign countries (A.M. Born in 2005; S.A. Born in 2003; M.A. Born in 2003 and M.H. Born in 2002) for the fact of illegal, group crossing of the State Border of Georgia.
