BORDER POLICE DETAINED 3 CITIZENS OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES FOR THE ATTEMPT OF ILLEGAL GROUP CROSSING OF THE BORDER

The Employees of MIA Border Police, as a result of operative – investigative measures, on the area of responsibility of the Border Sector “Kirnati” of Batumi Division , detained 3 citizens of foreign countries: (M.A. Born in 1985; M.A. Born in 1993 and M.A. Born in 1980) for the attempt of illegal group crossing of the State Border of Georgia.

The crime envisages imprisonment from 4 years up to 5 years.

The investigation revealed, that accused persons avoiding the check point, from Georgia to the Republic of Turkey, tried illegal group crossing of the State Border of Georgia.

The investigation is ongoing under the article 19 – 344, Part II, Subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

The United Kingdom (UK) Royal Navy 42 Commando Marines' instructors provided a special training course to officers of the MIA Border Police of Georgia.

14 employees of the Law Enforcement and Sea Security Tactical Divisions of the Coast Guard Department and 16 employees of the Rapid Response Main Division of the MIA Border Police have been trained in the Poti base of the Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police of Georgia.
