USS Donald Cook and MIA Border Police Coast Guard Department conducted combined maritime exercise training

While in the port of Batumi, the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook DDG 75 and MIA Border Police Coast Guard Department conducted combined maritime exercise training in the territorial waters of Georgia.

Passing Exercise included various navigation and communication drills as well as a ship boarding exercise. Joint exercise training was executed by the patrol boats “Ochamchire” and “Dioskuria” and the USS Donald Cook.
The aim of the set of exercises is to enhance interoperability between the maritime forces of Georgia and the US.

The USS Donald Cook’s visit reaffirms the United States’ commitment to strengthening ties with Georgia, while working toward mutual goals of promoting security and stability in the Black Sea region.
