US Defense Attaché visits Structural Units MoIA Border Police

Colonel Stephanie Begley, US Defense Attaché to Georgia visited the Structural Units under the MoIA Border Police of Georgia. The guest was received by the Acting Head of the Border Police, Colonel Nikoloz Sharadze. He introduced the daily activities of the Border Police N1 Division (Batumi) and the renewed infrastructure of the Kedi Border Sector.
Colonel Stephanie Begley also visited the Batumi and Poti Bases, as well as the Joint Maritime Operation Centre (JMOC) under the Coast Guard Department of the MoIA Border Police of Georgia. The Director of the Coast Guard Department, CAPT Ramaz Papidze talked with the US Defense Attaché about capabilities, objectives activities of the Georgian Coast Guard, while CDR Shota Mirotadze, Head of the JMOC introduced the visitor with the infrastructure of the Centre and made the presentation on its mission and tasks
The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the shipbuilding facility of the Coast Guard Department, as well as updated communication system and special equipment. The sides discussed ongoing and future projects of the MoIA Border Police of Georgia.
