Mr. Kekelidze attended Official Reception held on the USS PORTER

The Georgian delegation was hosted by Charge d’Affaires Elizabeth Rood and Commander Trent. The Head of the Border Police was given a tour onboard the vessel and was briefed by the vessel commander on its operational capabilities and technical characteristics.

The representatives of the Government of Georgia, the Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police of Georgia, the US Embassy to Georgia and other distinguished guests attended the reception.

The USS Porter, forward-deployed at Naval Station Rota, Spain, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.

The USS Porter will leave the Georgian territorial waters on October, 25.
