MIA Helicopter resumed weekly flights to Tusheti

The MIA Border Police helicopter resumed weekly flights to Tusheti to safely transport the population and their belongings during the Autumn-Winter period. The first passengers were transported from the Village of Alvani to the Village of Omalo.

Due to difficult geographic conditions and absence of roads, during 6 months the village is cut off from the rest of Georgia.

Before a vehicle road has been surfaced, the MIA Helicopter will fly to Tusheti regularly, once a week for the needs of the local community and to transport them along the border guards.
