Joint Maritime Exercises of Georgian and American Boarding Teams

While in the port of Batumi, the "USS Porter” has conducted combined maritime exercise training with the Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police in the territorial waters of Georgia.
Passing Exercise included visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS] actions and tactics onboard of the USS Porter. GEOCG Vessel Ochamchire has participated in the maritime training.
USS Porter (DDG-78) Arleigh Burke-class destroyer entered the Georgian territorial waters on October 22.
The aim of the set of exercises is to enhance interoperability between the maritime forces of Georgia and the US. The USS Porter visit reaffirms the United States commitment to strengthening ties with Georgia, while working toward mutual goals of promoting security and stability in the region.
