Dog Handlers from the MIA Border Police of Georgia Retrained

The fifth course of the special retraining program for the dog handlers has been concluded at the K9 Centre of the MIA Border Police of Georgia. The course was delivered by the Latvian dog handlers.
The re-training program aimed at capacity building of the Georgian border guard-dog handlers and training of the service dogs.
The program is implemented within the grant agreement between the State Border Guard Academy of the Republic of Latvia and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development. The ICMPD provides significant support to the K9 Division of the Border Police of Georgia through providing service dogs, special equipment and retraining programs. Within the program the instructors from the Border police K9Division are to be trained in Moldova and Latvia.
The development of the K9 service at the MIA Border Police enhances the land border protection efficiency.
