The employees of the Operative – investigative Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, detained 1 person for the fact of the attempt of illegal crossing of the State Border and also, detained wanted person for illegal crossing of the State Border.
As a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out by the Border Police Officers, it was determined, that one of the accused person, on the area of the responsibility of the Border Sector “Sadakhlo” of the Division “Tsiteli Khidi” of Border Police, avoiding the check point, on foot, through the so called “green zone”, tried illegal crossing of the State Border to the direction to the Republic of Armenia.
The investigation is ongoing under the Article 19 – 344, which implies up to 5 years of the imprisonment.
The second detainee, who was wanted on charges of illegally crossing of the State Border of Georgia – Türkiye, is currently being held in a penitentiary facility.
