BORDER POLICE DETAINED 1 PERSON FOR DRUG CRIME

The employees of MIA Border Police, detained 1 person, for illegal purchase and possession of a particularly large amount of narcotics and illegal importation of narcotics into Georgia.

The investigation revealed that a foreign citizen (C.O. Born in 1996) illegally imported up to 51 grams of the narcotic drug "cocaine" from the Republic of Türkiye into Georgia, avoiding the check point “Sarphi”.

The investigation is ongoing under the article 260 – 3 and 262 – 4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies 20 years or life imprisonment
