GEORGIAN BORDER POLICE DETAINED ONE PERSON WANTED BY INTERPOL RED NOTICE

As a result of operational-search activities conducted in Batumi, the employees of MIA Border Police detained citizen of the Republic of Türkiye (A.G; Born in 1974), who was internationally wanted by Turkish law enforcement agencies under a red circular for the commission of a particularly serious crime, premeditated murder.

The detained A.G. illegally crossed the Georgian State Border in 2021 before an international search was announced for him, for which he was convicted under Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Currently, extradition procedures provided for by law are underway against the detainee.
