BORDER POLICE ARRESTED ONE PERSON FOR DRUG CRIME

The employees of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, with the employees of the customs checkpoint, detained a foreign citizen (S.A. Born in 1980) on the area of the responsibility of the Border Sector "Sarpi" of Batumi Division of the Land Protection Department.

The police arrested the accused person (S.A) on the fact of illegally importing a large amount of drugs across the State Border.

The investigation is ongoing under the article 260, Part III, Subparagraph “A” and article 262, Part IV, Subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies for a sentence of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
