The employees of MIA Border Police, Patrol Police Department and Revenue Service, according to the joint operative and investigative measures, detained 2 persons of the foreign countries (D.A. Born in 1989 and H.A. Born in 1971) for the fact of the attempt of illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia and for the fact of smuggling of the migrant.

The employees of Border Police detained H.A. at the “Sarpi” border crossing point when he was driving a truck from Georgia, bypassing passport control. He was trying illegally transport a foreign citizen (D.A.), who was also arrested as a suspect, from Georgia to the Republic of Türkiye, in exchange for money by hiding him in the trailer of the truck he was driving, bypassing passport control. As a result of a search of the detainees' personal and truck, law enforcement officers seized a large amount of money as an evidence.

For the fact of the attempt of illegal crossing of the State Border of Georgia and for the attempt of smuggling of the migrant, the investigation is ongoing under the articles 19 – 344 and 19 3441 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies 5 years of imprisonment.
